About Grand Avenue School

Grand Avenue Public School officially opened with Grades JK to Grade 3 on December 1, 1960. At this time, there were 106 students enrolled. Throughout the 1960s, additional classrooms were built to accommodate an expansion of Grades JK to 8. Enrollment during that time ballooned to approximately 400 students in 1966.

In 2007, an extensive 4.5 million dollar renovation and update took place. This was in the form of new offices, library/computer lab, gymnasium, and a Grandview Daycare. Today, the enrollment stands at 229. Grand Avenue still has the small school feel along with a beautiful, park-like playground.

School Council at Grand Avenue is very active and does considerable fundraising throughout the year. Their numerous purchases include playground equipment and technology.

Throughout the school year, there are many activities and GRAND events taking place that celebrate the culture and traditions of our school. We always believe that Grand Avenue School will remain in our school community's hearts forever and that our students embrace our Board's motto, "Achieving Success Together."
